AITP hosts speaker events, inviting industry professionals who offer real-world insight into their careers and current trending topics. We are proud to endorse enrollment in ISDS 3070 [CIO Hot Topics] in addition to hosting club-wide AITP Speaker Series throughout the semester, highlighting past leadership and recent ISDS graduates.

Berkley Parent
Berkley Parent is a proud AITP alum and LSU '20 graduate as an ISDS major with a minor in Data Analytics. She has a strong background in SQL, Tableau, and Agile Methodologies. With a versatile skill set covering important facets in the data analytics space, she is passionately curious about the advancements of technology coming to the southern states. Berkley currently works as a Premium Subject Analyst in Risk Investigation for Tik Tok out of their Austin office. She spoke to us about, her personal transition into the workforce, soft and hard skills, growing a career in Big Tech, and her current position working at Tik Tok.
Darrell Miller
Darrell Miller works as an Information Security System Engineer at Louisiana Fusion Center. He is part of a small team of Cyber Security Professionals in Louisiana that specialize in DFIR, memory and malware forensics, information sharing, and tool building. Darrell and his team are the first responders to hacking issues within Louisiana. His role consists of figuring out if someone got into the network, how they got in, and what they took. On top of that, he and his team proactively work to find new ways to protect the state of LA from cyber attacks.


William Assaf
William Assaf is a Senior Content Developer at Microsoft and has returned to LSU many times to speak about his journey. As a senior content developer, he works to create content and a content strategy for Microsoft to ensure a strong customer experiece. He has spoken at Baton Rouge events such as SQLSaturday. Previously, Assaf also worked for Sparkhound in Baton Rouge, LA. He spoke to us about his career path and offered various insights into his work.
